Cream Legbars
Imported into the United States in 2011 these beautiful chickens breed a visually sexable chick according to their feather pattern. The males have a yellow dot on their head and the females have chipmunk stripes down their back. The hens lay vast quantities of sky blue eggs. Our flock of Cream Legbars are a combination of the original Greenfire Farm lines and the Jill Rees line purchased directly from Greenfire Farm in 2016. If you want a guarantee that you are getting a pullet and love the pastel blue eggs, this is the breed for you!!

French Black Copper Marans
The Black Copper Marans produce one of the darkest chocolate brown eggs of any breed. In fact the eggs are favorites of French chefs and they are rumored to be the favorite egg of James Bond. Often kept as an egg laying breed, a Black Copper Marans hen can lay 200 or more delicious chocolate brown eggs per year. The average weight of the Black Copper Marans are 5 lbs for a Hen, 6 lbs for a Cockerel.

Olive Eggers
Our Olive Eggers are either a cross between a Maran and Ameraucana or Maran and Cream Legbar for F1 Olive Eggers. We also have F1 (first generation) and F2 (second generation) that we cross back to a Maran rooster for a dark green egg. Beware that the crossbacks CAN produce a brown egg layer. It is the risk we take with trying to gain an even darker green egg.
Some of our Olive Egger chicks will have crests passed on from their Cream Legbar mothers. Some may have ear tufts from the Ameraucana and some feathered feed from the Maran side. They come in a variety of colors. These birds have friendly personalities, are very curious birds and quite animated. They are winter hardy, great foragers and do well in an enclosed coop. They are one of my favorites. 2020 hatches will include a first generation olive egger with a Wheaten Ameraucana crossed with a Maran. These should be beautiful birds!!

White Leghorn/Maran Cross
We keep a few White Leghorn in our flock for two reasons. First, they NEVER stop laying!! Regardless of the weather these birds keep laying year around. Second, we just like to have a full spectrum of color in our egg basket. In 2019 we decided to cross a few of our Leghorn hens to our Black Copper Maran rooster. What did it produce you ask? A very hardy chick. We got a 90% hatch rate of fast growing, healthy chicks. The hens are beautiful white with scattered black speckles. As predicted they were the first of our young pullet group to start laying. Not only did they start laying at 16 weeks but they are very consistent. The colors range from a cream to almost pink. These birds are our best egg layers here on the farm!

Isabel Ameraucana
We LOVE these birds. Their fluffy ear muffs and beards, porcelain looking feathers; make them attractive bug eating yard ornaments. If you live in an area of cold winters you will love the fact that they only have a tiny pea comb and virtually no wattles. They tolerate the cold well and continue to lay beautiful blue eggs through the winter months.

Langshans
These are the coolest birds! A large breed and super docile. They love people and interacting with their caretakers. Super animated and curious. Hens lay a pink egg so you can add to your beautiful naturally colored egg basket.
