Our Bunnies
Thornhollow Bunnies

We take great pride in our Holland Lops and have worked hard to get them to where they are today. With constructive criticism from ARBA judges and other breeders to help along the way we feel we are on the right track as many of them are placing well on the show tables. We strive to breed as close to the breed standard as possible without losing that sweet, lovable personality that the Hollands are so famously noted for. We are very picky about our rabbitry and keep it as clean as possible. The bunnies are checked on several times a day to monitor their feed, water, health and room temp. They are fed a pelleted feed from CHS Farm & Feed, Payback and locally grown quality grass hay. Kits, breeding does and show stock are fed an added mixture of black oil sunflower seed, Quaker Oats and Calf Manna.
We offer young kits for sale throughout the year as well as older breeding stock from time to time. No bunny will leave our barn under the age of 8 weeks old. Bunnies will not be held without a deposit of 50% of the purchase price. Deposits are non refundable if you change your mind but can be moved to another bunny or future litter if the bunny you originally placed the deposit on isn't what you wanted. If for some reason the bunny becomes ill prior to pickup, you will be given the choice of another bunny of equal or lesser value or a full refund of your deposit and/or payment of bunny. We guarantee each bunny to be healthy at the time of sale and when it leaves our barn. We extend that guarantee for 2 days after the date of sale in which case it will be replaced with another bunny of equal or lesser value should the bunny become ill or die unless there is evidence of neglect, injury or abuse; including heat stroke.
Prices are determined based on show or pet quality. You are welcome to purchase a show quality bunny for a pet but the price will not be adjusted. Hollands are a dwarf breed and one of the most difficult breeds to raise. Our bunnies range in price from $100-500. Prices reflect the time and effort it has taken us to get our stock to where it is today. We strive to breed as close to the breed standard as possible. Litters are small and demand is high. We too experience the high price of this breed when we purchase outside our rabbitry to bring in stock from others to diversify but it is the price we pay to bring in the best possible breeding stock. As with any other livestock; there are breeders with strict goals to improve the breed both with conformation and health and those that just breed two animals together and sell the offspring. I often get ask why our Hollands look so "different" than others they see posted on Craigslist, sold at feed stores or pet stores and this is why. Those bunnies are adorable and are still every bit as good a pet as long as the breeders of these animals are careful about not reproducing bad health traits such as malocclusion (when the upper and lower teeth fail to meet up the right way). Below is a link to the Holland Lop breed standard along with a very good photo. As you can see Holland Lops should be very compact with a nice round body and round head with well placed short thick teaspoon ears. Not a long body, long nose and very long ears that weighs over 4lbs. Just something to think about when you fall in love with that super squishy adorable little face....and you will fall in love with it...you just cannot ;-)
